L'homophobie, sujet du prochain film de Michael Moore?

On se souvient de sa virée en «Sodomobile», dans son émission The Awful Truth, un an après le meurtre de Matthew Shepard. Dans une interview au magazine gay The Advocate daté d'aujourd'hui, mardi 17 juillet, Michael Moore a confié que son prochain film pourrait traiter de l'homophobie et de la droite antigay américaine. «Je pense que je suis mûr pour un sujet comme celui-ci», explique-t-il. L'homophobie demeure «l'une des dernières plaies ouvertes de notre âme» déclare l'auteur de Bowling for Columbine, de Fahrenheit 9/11 et de Sicko, un pamphlet contre le système médical américain qui sort le 5 septembre en France. Il s'en prend à la droite antigay: «Il n'y pas un seul passage dans les quatre Évangiles où Jésus utilise le mot "homosexuel". La droite s'est approprié ce type et l'a utilisé pour attaquer les gays et les lesbiennes, alors que Jésus n'a jamais rien dit contre eux.» Moore se dit, pour sa part, favorable à l'ouverture du mariage aux gays et fier de soutenir cette cause: «Si vous croyez à l'égalité et si vous croyez qu'il faut vous battre pour les droits de tous, et tout particulièrement ceux qui sont le plus touchés par la bigoterie et la discrimination, alors vous n'avez pas d'autre choix que de répondre présent quand il s'agit de se battre pour les droits des gays et des lesbiennes.»
